Kiss Me

Kiss Me
by Sixpence None the Richer

Kiss me out of the bearded barley
Nightly beside the green green grass
Swing swing swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress

Oh kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moons sparkling
So kiss me

Kiss me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring bring bring your flowered hat
Well take the trail marked on your fathers map
Oh kiss me...

***** ****** ****** *******

I wish it was spring
so your kiss would smell like cherry flowers
sweet and gentle
the color brightens my cheek
as I look at you through the first drop of rain

I guess if it was summer
your arm would be warm from sunshine of the desert
white sand on my leg
blue waves in my hand
your fingers in my hair feels like a salty breeze
from beneath that ocean

But we met in the fall
one cold night we saw each other from behind a pink glass
sweet like honey
addictive like chocolate
you pull the night clouds to make a blanket
my head on your shoulder
we close our eyes waiting for the next season
